Paperless Grading Options


How much time do you spend grading papers? Wouldn't it be helpful if your students could take a test on a computer and have the test scored for you? What are the benefits?

Since we are working with Google Apps for Education, we will look at using Google Forms with a tool called Flubaroo. We will also look at a tool called Socrative.

Socrative

  • a free tool that allows teachers to create tests and quizzes to be administered through any browser

  • Students can use laptops, tablets or phones to complete the assessment

  • Teachers receive results immediately through an emailed spreadsheet

EdPuzzle

  • allows teachers to embed a video (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) and crop it

  • voice comments, audio overdubbing, text comments and questions can be added to the video

  • questions can include pictures and be in the form of multiple choice/true false or open ended

  • teachers can assign assessments to classes (no student email required)

  • teachers receive assessment outcomes from within the site
